Assist Us in Providing Support to Military Families
Colonel John McHugh was killed in action while serving in Afghanistan in May of this year. For the last 24 years, he had served his nation, and he was the father of five children.
To ensure that all five of his children earned a college education, a group of his old West Point classmates came together to raise money. Starting with a few of classmates who wanted to watch after his children to make sure they were taken care of, the Johnny Mac Soldiers Fund grew and eventually became the Johnny Mac Soldiers Fund.
“That volunteer force needs to know that when they raise their right hand and swear to support and defend the constitution of the United States, they need to know that there’s a bunch of us out here who have their back”. said one of Johnny Mac’s classmates.
Since September 11, 2001, more than 5,000 children have been separated from a parent who is serving in the military. A great deal has been sacrificed by these youngsters and countless of others like them. It’s the least we can do to help them by providing them with an education.
